Turmeric and Burns
Turmeric root powder is essential for treating cooking related burns! For quick access, keep a small container of turmeric powder in your kitchen in case you ever get a minor burn. Below are the instructions for using this natural remedy.
TIPS:
- Be careful where you get the turmeric paste because it will stain things yellow!
- The turmeric will temporarily stain your skin yellow but it is not permanent. The yellow color will be gone after a few washes of that area.
- This method works the best if the dressing and spot you burned is kept cool.
Instructions:
- Once you have been burned, run cold water over the area first!
- In small bowl, make a turmeric paste by mixing turmeric root powder with a small amount of cold water. Make sure the consistency is not too dry but not too wet. If it is too wet, it will not stay on your skin well.
- Thickly apply the paste to the burn on your skin.
- Get a thin cloth or a strip of paper-towels. Rinse thoroughly under cold water and drain off excess.
- Wrap or lay the cold, wet cloth/paper-towel on the paste-covered burn. Let it stay on the burn until the pain subsides.
- If you remove the wet cloth and paste too early, the pain will return. If this happens, simply repeat the process and wait a little longer.
